There are some points to be considered in the selection of rabbits, but we will not tell you about them. First of all, you must love the rabbit you buy. It should be a healthy and vaccinated rabbit. If you are looking for a rabbit for the first time, you can look for a baby rabbit. Because if you start looking after rabbits when they are puppies, you can get used to each other more easily. Also, if you are going to buy more than one rabbit and their gender is certain, you should pay attention to some things. If you are keeping 3 male rabbits because the males are fighting, you should adopt 3 female rabbits. Of course, you don’t need to buy more than one. A single rabbit will be best for you.

2-Property

In this regard, you can choose pet shops. Because the rabbits you will have from different places may have reached the level of getting sick or dying. But if you don’t like and don’t support pet stores, there are hundreds of rabbits on the internet that you can get for free from major popular sites. In addition, you should definitely adopt rabbits from reliable sites. should be done. Finding out if rabbits have the condition can be costly in some cases, but checkups are usually free.

3-The Rabbit’s House

Since it is a creature that can be fed both at home and in the garden, you should know what kind of nest it lives in both at home and in the garden. If you are going to keep them at home, you can choose wide and long cages. Since you need to take your rabbit out more at home, you should make the cage big or small for him. For those who will feed in the garden, a cage-type nest is definitely needed. Again, you can increase or decrease the size of the cage according to your long or short stroke. Your rabbit may get some diseases because you feed it outside. You must cover their nests carefully to avoid being caught. If the right and left parts of your nest are open, they can get sick when the wind blows. For this, you can wrap the nest around the nest with nylon in winter. Another important issue is how the water bowls are in the nest. You should use a pointed water thermos like a needle for the rabbit you can feed at home. It doesn’t matter if you put it in a container for the rabbit you will feed in the garden. Of course, some breeds have different needs. For this, you can do a little research before owning it. When feeding in the garden, the nest floor should be soil or a hard, non-slippery surface. In addition, your nest should definitely be made of metal wire, materials such as wood that they can gnaw will become unusable in a short time. The most important reason for you to look at the cage in the garden is cats and dogs. Because cats and dogs can attack rabbits and feed their stomachs with rabbits. Your cage should be like your rabbit can jump. If it can’t jump, it will feel restless. You should never, never put cat litter in your cage as a floor. Because it contains chemicals that can be deadly. Do not forget to wash the cage with hot water once a week. Finally, you can make accessories inside the nest. You can get toys and healthy herbs for your rabbit. In order for your rabbit to adopt its nest, you must put a dark environment in its nest where it can stick its head. Like cardboard with one side of the entrance. Rabbits must live alone in their nest. Except for the mate to mate with. The nest should never be too hot or too cold or they will get sick. It is very important.

4-Meals and Vitamins

Never use the vitamins given to add to your rabbit’s water or food. These vitamins, which you should use when you have an abnormal condition or disease in your rabbit, are tried to be shown as essential to earn money. when it comes to food, the food should never be watery or wet. If it eats watery or wet grass and food, diarrhea may occur. Therefore, you should feed it carefully. If you are looking after a baby rabbit, you should feed it dry food for the first three months. Afterward, you should get used to drying alfalfa from food by feeding it dry clover before giving greens. After these things happen, you can easily feed your rabbit with greens, of course, it should not eat grass that is wet. In other words, care should be taken when eating grass after the rain, and when putting greens in their nests, you should put them dry, not wet. Even if your rabbit is an adult, the greens should be dry. Adult rabbits cannot eat all types of greens. Rabbits; They consume vegetables such as basil, cabbage, broccoli leaves, carrots, celery, coriander, kale, dandelion leaves, dill, lettuce, mint, parsley, and watercress. When choosing these vegetables, you should be careful that they are fresh and do not contain pesticides, and you should always wash them before giving them to your rabbit. You should definitely not use the leaves of the flowers or herbs you grow at home, in case they are poisonous. In addition, strawberry, blackberry, banana, pineapple and seedless apple can be used as treats. However, we do not recommend you to give these fruits, especially salad. Of course, there are many things they cannot eat, such as avocado, mango, such as ivy, mushrooms, so you should research the herbs you will give. After giving the grade that high sugar is not good for rabbits, we can move on to the new substance.

5-Rabbit Diseases and Treatments

Rabbits are powerful creatures. For this reason, they do not get sick easily. To protect your rabbit from most rabbit diseases, it will be to use the right food, look after a clean nest, have plenty of water and let the rabbits out enough to make them exercise. You can’t vaccinate your rabbit for viral hemorrhagic disease and myxomatosis at 6 weeks of age and then once a year. Signs Indicating That the Animal Is Feeling Bad: Being exhausted, withdrawing to a corner, dull fur, withdrawing to a corner, not eating, difficulty breathing, watery nose, watery eyes, constipation, and diarrhea. If these situations occur, you can use drugs sold in pet shops. If there is still no change, you will need to take him to the vet urgently. Another important piece of information is that in hot months, rabbits may reduce their eating due to the hot weather, and it also means that your rabbit does not feel well when its fur becomes dull. If this dullness does not go away, it means that he is sick. Of course, to understand whether this dullness is a symptom of the disease, you can free your rabbit and let it wander for a while, or you can change its feed, or if you have not fed grass even though it is an adult, you can observe the situation by giving it clover.Respiratory Signs: Sneezing, coughing, runny nose, and wet eyes with a wet nose. This is usually caused by a dirty cage or overcrowding. In addition, irritating substances in the air (deodorant, air freshener, dust, etc.), poor ventilation, humidity, extreme heat and dental diseases cause this situation. Clean the cage thoroughly, make sure it is dry and free of dust. If it doesn’t improve, take it to the vet. 4-Intermittent Soft Stool (FLI): True diarrhea is very watery and misshapen, and this is very rare in rabbits. The most common is AYD. Poop is between the consistency of pudding and a drop of liquid, smelly and sticky. This is due to an excessive carbohydrate diet (mostly due to reward foods) and/or a diet with low amounts of indigestible fiber (hay). Solution; dry grass diet and plenty of greens. If not, take it to the vet. 5-Urinary Tract Diseases: Urinary tract diseases should be considered if there is blood in the urine of the rabbit, if it cannot urinate or if it is difficult. Take it to the vet. The best prevention is to ensure that the rabbit gets the water it needs by feeding it enough fresh greens and giving it fresh water every day.6-Dental Diseases: It is common in rabbits. The best way to prevent and treat is to eat right. There are 2 main reasons. The first is genetic origin. While breeding rabbits, facial structures may change and dental disease may be prone. The second reason is to feed the animal with foods that will harm dental health. Rabbits’ teeth are constantly growing. Poorly aligned or worn teeth predispose to disease. Show their teeth to the vet once a year. 7- Feather Ball and Stomach Occlusion: Feather ball is used to describe the condition known as accumulation in the stomach by blocking the digestive system. The rabbit gradually stops eating and drinking, its droppings begin to crumble, and a ball of feathers forms in the stomach. The most important reason is malnutrition. For example, containing very high carbohydrates and little fiber; Foods such as ready-made rabbit foods, pellets, grains and legumes cause this. Take your rabbit to the vet immediately if you see symptoms suggestive of a stomach ache, it is fatal. A rabbit fed dry grass and fresh greens will not have a fluff problem. Rabbits shed more or less once every 3 months. They may swallow some of these hairs while cleaning themselves, but their digestive systems are designed to destroy the hairs they swallow. Exceptions to this situation are angora and Jersey Woolys rabbits. These rabbits are long-haired and can swallow large amounts of feathers. Therefore, if such rabbits are combed frequently, their hair ingestion may decrease.8-Heat Stroke: Rabbits are very sensitive to heat. If you leave it in the heat for a long time, you will see that it collapses to the ground and breathes heavily. The rabbit is trying to cool itself. The best thing you can do is give it plenty of water, take it to a cool indoor place, and wrap it in a wet towel. Do not put in cold water or give ice to the rabbit, you will go into shock.
